RARE and exceptional 1920s custom-made Flapper dress! This is an elaborate Lampas weave design, with delicate chinoiserie depictions of royal life. This would have been an expensive tailor-made confection and is decorated with heavy real metallic twisted fringe. The dress is woven with gold metallic threads, plum, greens, and teal silk, and lined with purple chiffon silk. There are expert vintage repairs in the shoulders and the lining, yet the dress is very wearable. A fine museum quality piece. It drapes beautifully and the heavy fringe helps weight the dress to flatter your curves and silhouette.
