1920s Double Buckle, Pharaoh Mask, Egyptian Revival, Egyptomania

Brand/Maker: Unknown

Materials: Brass Buckles, Suede - Genuine Leather Belt

Era: 1920-30s

This King Tut, Egyptian Revival belt buckle is from the 20s or early 30s when egyptomania was at the peek. It has an incredibly rich antique finish, and is very detailed - as was the original solid gold coffin that held the mummy Tutankhamen, discovered in the early 1920s. The buckle has been paired with a vintage blue suede genuine leather belt to set off the color of the brass. Pretty cool conversation piece and very unique!

Artifacts uncovered by Egyptologists sparked widespread interest in ancient Egypt when they were discovered between 1922 and 1927, but most of them remained in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo until the 1960s, when they were first exhibited outside of Egypt. Because of these exhibitions, relics from the tomb of Tutankhamun are among the most travelled artifacts in the world. Probably the best-known tour was the Treasures of Tutankhamun from 1972 until 1981.

This piece measures 3" tall x 6" wide, 0.5" at the thickest point. The belt can be sized to fit 34" - 26", but currently is sewn to fit a 32" waist.

To ensure a good fit, please compare the measurements to an existing item in your wardrobe with a similar silhouette.
