1970s KJL©, Kenneth J. Lane, Rose Earrings, Swarovski Crystal, 22K Gold

$75.00
1970s Signed KJL© Kenneth J Lane Coral Rose & Crystal Earrings

Era: 1970s

Brand/Maker: Marked on the back KJL ©

Materials: Lucite & Rhinestone, Gold Plated Metal, Enamel

Magnificently molded coral LUCITE forms the petals of this SUBLIME pair of Rose clip earrings by the incomparable Kenneth Jay Lane! With an eye for detail that is virtually unsurpassed, Kenneth has created roses that look as if they are worthy of a place in the legendary Princess Grace Rose Garden in Monaco. The feature that makes KJL© roses jewelry exceptional is the life-like molding of the petals in this series.

The leaves beneath the rose are embellished with elegant black enamel and dazzling, prong-set simulated White Diamonds. As a finishing touch, more "diamonds" adorn the innermost portion of the rose. All of the "diamonds" in this piece are formed from the highest quality of Austrian Swarovski crystals, and the pair of earrings are plated in opulent, 22M Yellow Gold Plated metal.

Kenneth Jay Lane was a newcomer to the world of costume jewelry, launching his first line of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces in 1963. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Lane got his start with Hattie Carnegie before designing shoes for Christian Dior. He made his mark immediately on the fashion world when he covered inexpensive plastic bangles with rhinestones, added findings, and turned them into excessively large earrings. Before long, Bonwit Teller, Henri Bendel, and Saks Fifth Avenue were selling his pieces to such clients as Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn.
